1. Letter to Clubs outlining the 2019/20 competition 2. Here is a link to a video on Youtube especially for schools & teachers explaining ROAR 2019 in just a few minutes. Lions clubs are encouraged to use it to promote ROAR 2019 in schools. CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW TO VIEW THE VIDEO.
ROAR timetable 2019
By 5th April: all Clubs need to have paid their contribution toward the ROAR Competition. Once the District Treasurer has confirmed the sponsorship money has been paid for each school then details of the schools will be released to 7billionideas.
By 19th April: 7 billionideas will have designed the timetable and the teacher resources for this year's competition. This will enable them to tell the schools when they will be visiting for the roadshow to launch the programme in September. (I will also get a copy of the timetable as this allows me to follow-up where schools haven't agreed that the date and time are suitable for 7billionideas to visit. UNLESS THIS IS DONE THE SCHOOL COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAMME.)
By the summer holidays everything should be in place for the launch in September.
The final will be in December at the Ramgarhia Sabha Temple, 31 Percy Street, Nottingham NG6 0GF.
I will mention now that all children and teachers/lions/parents will need to have their head covered whilst in the Temple. Female children/adults can wear head scarves and male children can wear handkerchieves. All food and drinks will be provided by the Temple - juice and biscuits on arrival and hot food at lunchtime. Children can bring their own sandwiches etc. I would expect the timetable to be as follows:
10.30 - 11.00 Arrival 11.00 - 11.20 Welcome 11.20 - 11.40 Creative Game 11.40 - 11.50 Break 11.50 - 12.00 Setting up Stalls 12.00 -13.00 Lunch 13.00 - 14.00 Judging (children need to be at their stalls to answer any questions by the judges) Followed by Prize Giving and photo's. Sue Denton
Watch the video below which was produced after the 2018/19 final to understand what a great way this is to get young people involved and learn about Lions at the same time.
